The intelligent traffic signal breaks the fixed mode of the traffic light in the past, and changes the signal light according to the traffic flow size in real time to improve the traffic efficiency and slow down traffic congestion. According to scientific calculations, the use of intelligent signal lights will effectively improve the traffic efficiency of 20%-35%.

Since September last year, intelligent traffic lights have been piloted at Unity Road and Ordos Avenue in the Kangbashi New District of Ordos. After nearly one year of data collection and theoretical analysis, intelligent traffic lights have achieved ideal results in improving vehicle traffic efficiency in the new district. On July 20 this year, intelligent traffic lights will be installed at 169 intersections in Kangbashi New District. The two phases of installation are complete. The first phase of installation will be replaced at 78 intersections of the main roads such as Ordos Avenue and Ulan Mulun Street in the new district. The promotion and use of intelligent traffic lights will effectively improve the traffic efficiency of the Kangbashi New District and reduce the red light in the queue. The phenomenon is very convenient for the masses to travel.
